Safety (Infection Control)

In spite of all you’ve heard or read in the media, a visit to your dentist at this time is as safe as it has ever been. In fact, the history of safety while receiving dental care is outstanding.

Perhaps the most comforting statement we can make about how we feel about infection control in our office is this: When any dental team member (including the doctor) or any member of our families receives care in this office, we change nothing in the way the rooms or instruments are handled or prepared. In other words, we feel the effort put forth in protecting our patients from disease is more than adequate to protect our families and ourselves.

We use what has been termed the universal barrier system of infection control. What this means is that we assume everyone has something that others don’t want. Therefore, we discard after each use what we can discard, we wrap with a plastic barrier what we can wrap, and we sterilize between patients anything that has been used previously, including our handpieces.

Our staff is serious about your safety and infection control in our office. Regular training and routine quality control checks in sure that we meet, and in most instances exceed, government and industry standards. Please feel free to discuss your concerns or ask questions about our infection control procedures.
